Basketball Game Preview: Salado Eagles vs. Burnet Bulldogs

The Salado Eagles will challenge the Burnet Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salado will be strutting in after a win while Burnet will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Salado turned things around against Jarrell on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 49-34 victory over the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Burnet lost to Gateway College Preparatory at home by a 51-37 margin on Friday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 11-7 in the first quarter.

Burnet's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Salado, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-13.

Salado came up short against Burnet in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 65-53. Can Salado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
