Basketball Recap: Elmont Memorial Has No Trouble Against Summit Academy

Elmont Memorial won the last time they faced Summit Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Elmont Memorial Spartans put the hurt on the Summit Academy Eagles with a sharp 60-40 win.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jhency Pabon, who posted 11 points. Pabon continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyla Lawrence, who had six points and nine rebounds.

Elmont Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Summit Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Elmont Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summit Academy, they will square off against Teachers Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
