Volleyball Recap: Sunny Hills Takes a Loss

Sunny Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fountain Valley Barons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Barons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

Sunny Hills actually scored more points across those five sets (103-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 13-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Sunny Hills' loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Fountain Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunny Hills will venture away from home to take on Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fountain Valley, they will head out to square off against Los Alamitos at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
