Volleyball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Mountain View

Westwood faced Mountain View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Toros. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Toros: they've now lost nine in a row.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mountain View scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 25-20.

Silas Bowlby paced Westwood's offense, picking up 14 kills. Bowlby got some help from Jack Carpenter and his 34 assists. Joseph Washington controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Levi Myers, who had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three).

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Mountain View, they now have a winning record of 13-12-2.

Westwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Mountain Ridge on the 2nd. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Skyline on the 3rd.
