Baseball Recap: Shady Side Academy Comes Up Short

Shady Side Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Park Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 last Monday.

Shady Side Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Dillon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Shady Side Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for South Park, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Shady Side Academy will host Taylor Allderdice at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Park, they will head out on the road to face off against South Fayette at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.4, the Lions 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
