Recap: Roosevelt Sharks vs. Lincoln Lancers
The Roosevelt Sharks gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lincoln 91-41 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-27.
Roosevelt found their leader in underclassman Frank Mercedes, who scored 29 points along with 7 assists and 7 rebounds. Nero Camerena was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
Lincoln's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karon Hickman , who scored 15 points. The game was Hickman 's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chauncey Gordon , who scored 10 points.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lincoln, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Saunders Trades & Tech at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Saunders Trades & Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Monday. Lincoln is on the road again on December 12th and play against Mahopac at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
