Winfield won the last time they faced Poca and things went their way on Friday too. The Winfield Generals simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Poca Dots 87-52. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Dots are ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Winfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Poca's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Winfield will welcome Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cabell Midland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. As for Poca, they are taking a road trip to challenge Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Nitro will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Poca surely won't give up without a fight.
