Football Recap: Pewitt Piles Up the Points Against Como-Pickton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pewitt). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Como-Pickton Eagles 50-22. Considering the Brahmas have won three matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Datokta Zavala threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Cruz Zavala was his top target, picking up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Cade Nix rushed for 109 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries.

Pewitt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Como-Pickton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Coming up, Pewitt will challenge Rivercrest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Brahmas will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Como-Pickton, they will face off against Boles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
