Baseball Game Preview: Open Door Christian Patriots vs. Mapleton Mounties

The Open Door Christian Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Mapleton Mounties at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Open Door Christian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Last Monday, Open Door Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Bedford and fell 7-6.

Evan Reed made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Elias Branson, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, Mapleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-9 to New London.

Open Door Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mapleton, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-6.

Open Door Christian came up short against Mapleton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 12-8. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
