Christian and Point Loma are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Patriots will challenge the Pointers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Christian 3, Point Loma 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Cathedral Catholic on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Dons.

Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Wood, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Point Loma came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Pilots by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pointers have posted against the Pilots since March 19, 2019.

River Hargett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Point Loma pushed their record up to 21-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6-1.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Point Loma struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Christian couldn't quite get it done against Point Loma when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 7-3. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
