Football Recap: Poway Titans vs. Point Loma Pointers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Poway had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Point Loma Pointers with a sharp 28-7 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Luke Jorgensen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Jack Davy, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Poway didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ryan Crafton, Marko Kirovski, and Eli Alsop picked up one apiece.
Poway's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Point Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Poway will square off against University City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poway is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Point Loma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
