Independence and Choctaw County squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly Independence had to settle for second. They suffered a tough 14-6 loss at the hands of the Choctaw County Chargers. Independence just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.

Eli Stepp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ethan Wright was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Choctaw County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-18.
