Baseball Game Preview: Highland Hornets vs. Valencia Jaguars

Highland hasn't had much luck against Valencia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Highland's offense. They came up short against Grants on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Valencia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to St. Pius X. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Valencia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaylon Zamora, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Valencia's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1.

Highland came out on top in a nail-biter against Valencia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
