Don Lugo entered their tilt with Chino on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Cowboys 12-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 17-9 win on Monday.

Jade Curiel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camila Franco, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Angeline Canez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Don Lugo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Don Lugo's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chino, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Don Lugo will head out to face off against Diamond Ranch at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chino, they will take on San Dimas in a tournament on Saturday.
