Gainesville is still undefeated this season after their contest against Woodward Academy on Saturday, but Woodward Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Red Elephants came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-51 W against the War Eagles. The 52-point effort marked the Red Elephants' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Gainesville to victory were Jaxton Trammell and Quintin Mansfield. Trammell posted nine points and three steals, while Mansfield put up ten points.

Woodward Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Yusef Morrison, who earned ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jarvis Hayes Jr., who had 14 points and three steals.

Gainesville's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Woodward Academy, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.
