Gainesville put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 42-38 W against the Woodward Academy War Eagles. Those 42 points were actually the fewest the Red Elephants have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Leading Gainesville to victory were Jaxton Trammell and Quintin Mansfield. Trammell posted nine points and three steals, while Mansfield earned ten points.

Several War Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yusef Morrison, who had ten points and five rebounds. Jarvis Hayes Jr. was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Gainesville's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Woodward Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Gainesville will venture away from home to challenge Chattahoochee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Red Elephants' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Woodward Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-56 victory against Chamblee on the 2nd.
