Softball Preview: Central Dragons vs. Huntingdon Bearcats

Central is 8-0 against Huntingdon since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Central Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Huntingdon Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. Central will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.

Central is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Monday, just like they did against Penn Cambria (and have done all season long). Everything went Central's way against Penn Cambria on Friday as Central made off with a 14-3 victory.

Madison Kennedy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Kennedy has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Kennedy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Renner, who went 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bralyn Ellis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Huntingdon might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-6 to Bedford, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Huntingdon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
