Softball Recap: Mercy Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Mercy never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the El Camino Colts with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Bears have won five matches by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Melina Antonio looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Vivianna Reyes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Fua, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Mercy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Mercy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for El Camino, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercy will host Burlingame at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Camino, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
