Softball Recap: J.H. Rose's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After flying high against Northside - Jacksonville last Thursday, J.H. Rose came back down to earth. The Rampants fell 6-2 to the South Central Falcons on Tuesday. The Rampants' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Michelle Jenkins was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Jenkins wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Riley Shaw, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

J.H. Rose's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for South Central, their record is now 8-5.

Looking ahead, J.H. Rose will square off against Havelock at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Central, they will face off against New Bern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
