Baseball Game Preview: Greenville Red Raiders vs. Mauldin Mavericks

Greenville is 1-7 against Mauldin since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Raiders will square off against the Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. Greenville has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Greenville managed to slip by Greenwood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Raiders came up short against the Eagles on Thursday, falling 12-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Mauldin narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Greenville 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Mauldin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Greenville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
