Basketball Recap: Colleton County Victorious

If May River wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Colleton County, they should've done a better job of containing Zariona Hudson. The Colleton County Cougars snuck past the May River Sharks with a 37-33 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Hudson, who went 10 of 18 en route to 24 points and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Several Sharks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashleigh Williams, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Macy, who had four points.

Colleton County's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for May River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colleton County will head out to face off against Beaufort at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for May River, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop England will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something May River surely won't give up without a fight.
