Preview: Chatfield Gophers vs. Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons
After two games on the road, Chatfield is heading back home. They will take on the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Chatfield will be strutting in after a victory while Wabasha-Kellogg will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Chatfield on the road against Osage as the team secured a 69-42 victory.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Wabasha-Kellogg had to settle for a 45-42 defeat against Schaeffer Academy on Saturday. Wabasha-Kellogg has not had much luck with Schaeffer Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ileana DeAngel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. She scored a full 33.3% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brielle Adams, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Plainview-Elgin-Millville's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Chatfield's defeat dropped theirs to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Chatfield against Wabasha-Kellogg when the teams last played back in February as the team secured a 70-34 victory. Does Chatfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wabasha-Kellogg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
