Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Mustangs vs. Marion Wolves

The Mt. Vernon Mustangs will take on the Marion Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Mt. Vernon sitting on 18 straight wins and Marion on four.

Last Monday, Mt. Vernon humbled Independence with a 73-26 victory. Mt. Vernon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Marion beat Center Point-Urbana 56-46 on Tuesday.

Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marion, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Mt. Vernon was able to grind out a solid victory over Marion in their previous matchup back in January, winning 67-58. Does Mt. Vernon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
