Basketball Recap: West Carrollton Pirates vs. Greenville Green Wave
In what's become a running theme this season, the West Carrollton Pirates gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Greenville. The team accrued 38 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
West Carrollton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Selena Frost, who scored 24 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Frost has scored at least a third of West Carrollton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Gandy, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
West Carrollton's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Greenville, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
West Carrollton will be playing at home against the WARRIORS at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dayton Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Skyhawks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Fairborn is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
