Basketball Recap: Livingston Academy Wildcats vs. Stone Memorial Panthers
The Livingston Academy Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 77 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Stone Memorial at home by a decisive 91-77 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), Livingston Academy still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Cade Capps, who scored 40 points along with five rebounds for Stone Memorial. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which Capps has scored at least a third of Stone Memorial's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Lane, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Livingston Academy and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Stone Memorial, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Livingston Academy will square off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stone Memorial, they will head out on the road to square off against the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkrange will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Panthers are ranked 63rd).
