Football Recap: San Clemente Finds Playoff Glory Versus Beaumont + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only San Clemente walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 victory over the Beaumont Cougars on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tritons considering their ten-point performance the matchup before.

A big part of San Clemente's win came down to the chemistry between Preston Beck and his top target Thomas Alexander. Beck threw for 200 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes while Alexander picked up 134 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Those four receiving touchdowns gave Alexander a new career-high. Carson Sloan handled things on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Loss or not, Beaumont got some senior leadership from Jeremiah Duhu and Braedon Miller. Duhu rushed for 61 yards and a pair of scores, while Miller picked up 96 receiving yards and one TD.

San Clemente has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.2 points over those games. As for Beaumont, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, San Clemente will head out to challenge Vista Murrieta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beaumont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
