Kasen Williams, the No. 37 recruit in the country according to CBS and MaxPreps recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, announced Friday night he is headed to the University of Washington.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound receiver from Skyline (Sammamish, Wash.) selected the Huskies over offers from California, Florida, Notre Dame and LSU.

Williams burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2007 during Skyline’s playoff run, proving to be a big-play threat for the Spartan offense.

He quickly emerged as a favorite target of quarterback Jake Heaps, accounting for 2,148 receiving yards and 34 TDs over the last two seasons. He ranks as the No. 2 receiver in the country, according to Lemming.

The son of former Husky receiver Aaron Williams had long been considered a UW lean.

Also a star basketball player and track and field athlete, Williams is the 17th player to verbally commit to Steve Sarkisian as part of UW's 2011 class. It also marks the former USC assistant's second major in-state success in as many weeks. Highly-coveted tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins pledged the program Aug. 16 over Texas.
