A Season-Best Effort from Caden Clay Leads Northside over Griffin

On Thursday, Northside got the W thanks in part to Caden Clay playing the best football he has all season. Clay rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.

Northside pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Clay and Northside will challenge Starr's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Starr's Mill Wins Eighth-Straight Thanks to Lincoln Delaere

Lincoln Delaere's big game helped extend Starr's Mill's winning streak to eight on Friday. Harris County had no answer to Delaere as he picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Starr's Mill pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Delaere will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Northside on Friday.

Jai Jackson Dazzles in Northside Win

Jai Jackson put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September of 2023 on Thursday. He rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.

This season, Jackson has averaged 18.2 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he was only averaging 36.5 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 70.83 rushing yards.

Harris County was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Demetrius Brooks did his best to prevent it. Brooks was dynamite, making a tackle.

Harris County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers takes on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tye Bias Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Thursday, Northside got the W thanks in part to Tye Bias playing the best football he has all season. Bias picked up two sacks and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

This season, Bias has averaged 5.9 total tackles per game and for the season has 3 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging two total tackles per game.
