Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Eagles vs. Sherando Warriors + Official Tickets

Liberty hasn't had much luck against Sherando recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Liberty needed a bit of extra time to put away Fauquier. They had just enough and edged out the Falcons 10-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Jairo Contreras Leon made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tyson Schrum was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Liberty is undefeated when Schrum posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Christopher Laws was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Sherando was able to grind out a solid win over Warren County on Thursday, taking the game 7-3.

Liberty's record is now 10-6. As for Sherando, their record now sits at 13-6.

Liberty might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Sherando when the teams last played last Thursday. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
