Elbert County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Woodmont Wildcats 49-31. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Georgia, while the Wildcats are ranked 103rd in South Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elbert County's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Woodmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Elbert County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oglethorpe County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Woodmont will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
