Volleyball Recap: Houston Takes a Loss

Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nikiski Bulldogs. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Houston sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-16.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Nikiski, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-5 record this season.

Houston has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Sitka on the 10th. As for Nikiski, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the 10th.
