Basketball Game Preview: Idalou Wildcats vs. Dimmitt Bobcats

The Idalou Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Dimmitt Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Idalou knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Dimmitt likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Idalou took on Slaton on Tuesday. Idalou enjoyed a cozy 58-42 victory over Slaton. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Tigers are ranked 210th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-32, which was the final score in Dimmitt's tilt against Roosevelt on Tuesday.

Idalou pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Dimmitt, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Idalou strolled past Dimmitt when the teams last played on January 7th by a score of 62-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Idalou since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
