Football Recap: Martin County Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Martin County extended their home winning streak to 11 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Calista Scornavacca. The Martin County Tigers really took it to the Tradition Prep Pirates for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-0 win with plenty of help from Scornavacca, who threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes, and also punched in one rushing score. What's more, she racked up 138.7 passer rating, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Martin County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Shelby Gosman led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Bella Watson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Martin County's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Tradition Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Martin County Tigers challenge Westwood Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Martin County 7.4, Westwood 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Tradition Prep will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Okeechobee at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st.
