Basketball Recap: Greer Middle College Takes a Loss

Greer Middle College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-31 last Wednesday.

Greenville Tech Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlotte Lawrence, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Lawrence is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jayla McGill was another key player, putting up four points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Greer Middle College's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Greenville Tech Charter, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0.

Greer Middle College didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-11 victory against GREEN Upstate on the 13th. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-47 loss against Blacksburg on the 13th.
