Brandon takes loss despite strong efforts from Ella Rizzo and Riley Abney

Recap: Brandon Blackhawks vs. Owosso Trojans
The Brandon Blackhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Owosso 64-36. Brandon has struggled against Owosso recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Riley Abney and Ella Rizzo certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Abney scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Rizzo scored six points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 61.1% of Brandon's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Owosso, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Brandon will head out on the road to face off against Linden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brandon in Michigan (Linden is ranked 175th, while Brandon is ranked 472nd). As for Owosso, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Chesaning at 7:00 p.m. Chesaning is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
