Southern is 8-2 against Tri County since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southern Raiders will look to defend their home court against the Tri County Trojans at 6:00 p.m.

Southern is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Johnson County Central on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Southern was dealt a 48-21 defeat at the hands of Johnson County Central. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-4.

Meanwhile, Tri County put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Pawnee City 59-32. Fans of the Trojans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Southern better keep an eye on Isabelle Peters. She was instrumental in Tri County's win, going 8 of 19 on her way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. Peters is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least seven every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Gronemeyer, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points.

Tri County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Southern, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Southern took a serious blow against Tri County when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 45-9. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southern was down 27-2.
