Recap: Mercy Career & Technical vs. Pine Forge Academy
After a string of four wins, Mercy Career & Technical's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Pine Forge Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Mercy Career & Technical's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Caple, who scored 18 points. Taji Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Mercy Career & Technical's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2. As for Pine Forge Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Mercy Career & Technical will take on Life Center Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Life Center Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Mercy Career & Technical likes a good challenge. Pine Forge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
