 On Monday, Stratford faced Gray Collegiate Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Stratford Knights wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 7-0 walloping at the hands of the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. Stratford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gray Collegiate Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in March of 2023.
 For Gray Collegiate Academy's part,  Peyton Hendrix spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just zero earned runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Hendrix has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Gray Collegiate Academy let  Kaley Anderson and  Maddox Long loose on the outfield. Anderson  went 3-for-3 with a  home run, two  RBI,  and a  double, while  Long  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Long is on a roll when it comes to  home runs, as she's  now  launched  at least one in the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaylan Boudreau, who  went 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, the  victory was  the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stratford will take on Cane Bay at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Stratford will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak  alive. Gray Collegiate Academy will take on Legion Collegiate Academy at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Gray Collegiate Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4  runs per game  this season, so Legion Collegiate Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
