Football Game Preview: China Spring Cougars vs. La Marque Cougars + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in CHRISHON GREGORY and Cory Hosea are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. China Spring will take on La Marque at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

China Spring is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Bellville. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Brahmas are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, La Marque gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamshire-Fannett, sneaking past 35-32.

La Marque's win came from a few key players China Spring will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Deuce Walker, who threw for 222 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. La Marque's leading receiver Caden Ward was Walker's top target yet again, picking up 91 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

La Marque was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

La Marque has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.9 points. As for China Spring, their record is now 4-7.
