Glacier waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Polson Pirates 15-5. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Olivia Warriner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nakiah Persinger, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Cazz Rankosky was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Glacier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Polson only posted an OBP of .379.
Glacier pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Polson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2-1.
Looking ahead, Glacier is taking a road trip to square off against Flathead at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack are facing the Braves/Bravettes at the right time seeing as the Braves/Bravettes are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Polson, they will head out to take on Ronan at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
