Preview: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Northwest Guilford Vikings
The Ragsdale Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northwest Guilford Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Ragsdale came up short against Southwest Guilford and fell 68-58. While losing is never fun, Ragsdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while Southwest Guilford is ranked 89th).
Despite the defeat, Ragsdale had strong showings from Patrick Carter, who scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals, and Cam Wise, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Burke, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Ragsdale were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 14 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Northwest Guilford beat Southeast Guilford 64-55 on Friday.
Ragsdale's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Northwest Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
