The biggest upset of the week belonged to La Costa Canyon, who took down 43rd ranked Carlsbad, 24-10.

The Mavericks scaled the state rankings by moving to 99 from 132 this week, the biggest jump in Avocado - West. La Costa Canyon climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Lancers 24-10.

Carlsbad's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Chapman threw for 192 yards and Christopher Spiering had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Dylan Rutledge chipped in 57 yards. Marc Reina helped Carlsbad's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 57 yards.

Chapman put up the best numbers in passing as Thadd MacNeal's team lost to Sean Sovacool's team. Chapman's favorite target this week was Spiering, who caught 3 passes for 59 yards.

Carlsbad's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chapman has thrown for 1,131 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Jordan Perez has 19 catches for 330 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when El Camino takes on the Lancers. As it stands, the Wildcats are in fourth, while Carlsbad is in third.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when El Camino takes on the Lancers. Pulu Poumele's team has allowed 116 points this season, while Carlsbad has given up 76. The Wildcats allowed 14 points last week as they beat Fallbrook.

Vista lost to Oceanside 38-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
