After flying high against Myrtle on Friday, Mantachie came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the Oxford Chargers by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Mantachie's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Oxford, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-13.

Looking ahead, Mantachie is taking a road trip to challenge Tishomingo County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Braves' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oxford, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lewisburg at 6:00 p.m.
