Basketball Recap: Kayte Shively's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rawlins County over Quinter

If Rawlins County was riding high fresh off their 53-25 takedown of Ness City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rawlins County Buffaloes lost 64-40 to the Quinter Bulldogs on Friday. The matchup marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rawlins County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayte Shively, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. Tayten Dewey was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five blocks and three steals.

Even though they lost, Rawlins County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Quinter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamry Getz out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Getz a new career-high in points.
