It was a proper cat-fight when Jennings County took on Trinity Lutheran on Monday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-1 victory. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Jennings County got a great performance from Audrey McDonald as she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. McDonald has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ryleigh Sporleder was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one run. Kate Treadway was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Jennings County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Jennings County back to even at 6-6. As for Trinity Lutheran, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Jennings County is taking a road trip to take on Madison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Lutheran, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Henryville at 5:00 p.m. The Hornets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
