Chaffey had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 52-50 victory over the Fontana Steelers. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while the Steelers are ranked 245th).

Chaffey is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Fontana, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Chaffey will head out to challenge Western Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fontana, they will be playing at home against Workman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Workman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Fontana likes a good challenge.
