Basketball Recap: Illinois Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Gold Beach last Monday, Illinois Valley came back down to earth. The Illinois Valley Cougars took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Myrtle Point Bobcats. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 58-46.

Illinois Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Myrtle Point, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 4-20.

Looking ahead, Illinois Valley will be playing at home against Reedsport at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Myrtle Point, they are taking a road trip to square off against Oakland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakland will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Myrtle Point surely won't give up without a fight.
