Basketball Recap: Devine Comes Up Short

Devine lost against Floresville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Devine Warhorses fell just short of the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars by a score of 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warhorses have suffered since November 26, 2024.

Samuel Rodriguez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Floresville, going 7 for 16 on his way to 22 points. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Roy Marroquin was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Devine has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Floresville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-14.
