Tampa Catholic put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Talan Miranda looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tampa Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Cinnante, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Cinnante a new career-high. Cole Bitman also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Tampa Catholic pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs over those games. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tampa Catholic will welcome St. Petersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tampa Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so St. Petersburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they will host Tampa Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Tampa Prep's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
