Basketball Game Preview: John Paul II Golden Warrriors vs. Bridges Prep Buccaneers

The John Paul II Golden Warrriors will head out to face off against the Bridges Prep Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

John Paul II is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since November 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of May River by a score of 45-43. The Golden Warrriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Bridges Prep put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 60-45 victory over Memorial Day.

John Paul II better focus on containing A Wilson and Q Young as the pair were huge in Bridges Prep's win. Wilson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 boards, while Young posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. The contest was Wilson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Gray, who had eight points and three steals.

Bridges Prep pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for John Paul II, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
